Presidential Swim Up Suites | Luxury at The Grand
During our very first stay at Moon Palace in Cancun, we booked a standard room with two double beds at Nizuc, an approximately 20 year old resort. The room at Nizuc was nice and comfortable, exactly what we expected. Our room was close to the newest Moon Palace resort, The Grand, which Palace Resorts built in approximately 2018.
The first morning, Olivia and I woke up early and decided to explore. We first walked over to The Grand. We learned a valuable lesson that first morning: we could not get coffee at The Grand’s fabulous coffee shop, nor eat at its restaurants. Only persons staying at The Grand can use its facilities and restaurants, because it’s essentially a brand new five star resort.
Later that morning, we approached a staff member at Nizuc about excursions. He offered us two one-day passes to The Grand if Jennifer and I agreed to take a tour of the premises. Each pass cost $150 per day, so we decided to take the tour. Wow! The Grand was spectacular with its numerous restaurants, water park, and that amazing coffee shop.
During the membership sales presentation, we decided to join as VIP members. Our new membership granted us the ability to stay at Palace Resorts’ various presidential suites at deeply discounted prices. Because there was limited availability, we were fortunate enough to also get our room at Nizuc upgraded to a presidential swim up suite at The Grand. We thought we had hit the lottery!
Although we only had one bedroom with a king sized bed, the living room was large enough for housekeeping to bring in two twin beds for our daughters. This gave Jennifer and me a private space to sleep for the rest of the trip, which we were not expecting at the beginning of our trip. At night, we all would come back from dinner, throw on our swim suits, and jump straight into the pool for a night swim.
The ability to stay at a presidential suite with a large discount off the public price is a major reason we became members. Each level of membership is different, so you need to speak with a sales representative to fit your membership plan into your budget. Our plan started small, and we’ve upgraded over our last few visits.
There is no comparison to staying in a presidential suite at The Grand versus a standard hotel room. The only equivalence is staying at a multi-bedroom condominium, except with 24 hour room service! The ability to stay in room and sit on a couch or eat dinner at a table makes all the difference in a luxury grand resort experience.
